There are two IELTS programs: Introduction to IELTS is for intermediate level students, while IELTS Preparation is for advanced level students. In each program, students study 15 hours of IELTS preparation per week, and 7.5 hours of an elective class per week.

There are two IELTS tests available – IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training. The test you choose should be based on what it is you want to do.

IELTS can help you with a variety of life choices, like moving abroad, getting the job you’ve always wanted or even just improving your English language skills. So before you book your test, be sure to check which one is right for you.

You will be awarded an IELTS band score from 0-9 for each test section, which reflects your proficiency in English.

Your IELTS Test Report Form will show a score for each of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking) and an overall band score. You can score whole band scores (for example 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) or half band scores (e.g. 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) in every section of the test.

Universities and other educational establishments can use IELTS Indicator to assess the standard of applicants’ language abilities at a time when test takers are unable to access the in-person IELTS. Please check with your university on whether they accept it before booking.

Test centres make every effort to cater to the special needs of disabled candidates. If you have a special need, talk to your local test centre when registering. 

Test Report Forms are valid for 2 years. You can attend IELTS as many times as you like. You can use any result that you wish.
